Saying Goodbye is Never Easy

Grandpa and the Mayor Saying Goodbye is Never Easy

LtoR Spencer and Mackie

saying goodbye is never easy..
especially to a beloved part of the family that just happens to be a canine.

Our beloved pets become a part of the family and the lines between human and canine become invisible. Not everyone feels that way, but if you are a “pet lover” you know what I’m talking about!Pet Lovers all say , “I loved my dog deeper than I’ve loved anyone”.

I said goodbye to my beloved Mackie this week, after 14 years of an unconditional, loyal and committed life together.

Here are some  of my memories and lessons that he so graciously gave and taught me…

From the moment I met you, I knew that we were meant to be together..
Your gentle, kind spirit carried  me through, the darkest nights and sunniest days..
You were always happy to see me, go anywhere with me, do anything with me
With the simple joy, of just being, with me..Didn’t matter how I looked or how I felt, you just stayed by my side to let me know you were there.

Long walks, short runs, trips in cars, boats and planes, to enjoy our family, meet new faces and see new places,
you shared my spirit of adventure and curiosity..

We learned about each other over time..about how to live, have fun, take care of each other..and we did..for 14 years! What a special gift you were and will always be, in my heart, in my memories and to the many that you touched with your sweetness,  kind heart and gentle soul…

Mackadoodles I loved you, Mackadoodles you were true..Mackadoodles thank you..for teaching me about loyalty, simplicity, unconditional love, fun, caring, letting go and friendship.

What are your memories of your beloved pets?
