What’s Your Big Picture for Next Year?

I officially start thinking about and making a written plan for my S.M.A.R.T Goals for the next year after Thanksgiving. I start writing notes to myself at the end of the summer, after I have reviewed the year’s tone and activity and start getting focused on the following areas.

Overall Review of the year
Evaluation of Best Practices
How Can I do It Better
Putting my vision and intentions into action

Your Big Picture is made up of many parts that need to make sense for you and your business and most importantly need to be working together. These parts should include:

    • the current business environment
    • the relevance of your skills and how you deliver your business
    • the marketability and bank-ability of your product/service
    • your sales strategy
    • your overall marketing plan
    • your online and offline networking and marketing plan

I have written a lot this year about  the  ‘entrepreneurial mindset” and “success mindset”. In today’s business world developing and refining this quality and skill really can set you apart and accelerate your progress.

Some of the the key skills and qualities that  always contribute to the sustainability of my (and others) success mindset include:

    Resilience

    Flexibility

    Perseverance

    Courage

    Realism

    Anticipation

The challenges and difficulties I have experienced have led me to meeting people and doing things that are keeping me moving and growing. I don’t always know exactly where I am going but isn’t that the exciting part of any adventure? It’s so much easier to keep moving with the current, then against it. Meandering streams usually lead to lakes and oceans. Our business path is like as meandering stream.

A great book I highly recommend is Tony Hsieh, CEO of Zappos.com- Delivering Happiness-A Path to Profits, Passion and Purpose. The story and journey he writes about to make Zappos.com a 1 billion in gross merchandise sales company in less than 10 years is about perseverance and passion! It really chronicles his flexibility and resilience in evolving  his ‘BIG Picture’ through many challenges and cycles. With shoulders back, head up and looking forward, he keep moving forward…

I too choose to..”dwell in possibility” (Emily Dickinson) and keep moving..

Although there are challenging, uncertain, fearful and difficult times, they can also be the most exciting, trans-formative, hopeful and positive!

I will be doing a series of posts on the BIG Picture focus areas and key qualities for a “success mindset”.

    Think BIG and Be BOLD..
